Bioenergy Australia Webinar Series

Supported by IEA Bioenergy - Task on advanced biofuels (Task 39)

As part of the global industry decarbonisation, all transport sectors, including road, aviation and marine, need to rely on alternative fuels to meet the ambitious emission targets.

Biofuels represent a golden opportunity to develop a new industry and move to a more sustainable transport sector.

Join the webinar to hear from global leaders and Australian technology experts about the role and opportunities of biofuels in the international scenario and how Australia is progressing with new projects.

Everyone is welcome to join the webinar, in particular companies involved in the transport sector, technology developers, university researchers, renewable financiers, investors in renewables and policy makers.

Agenda:

4.30 - 4.35 pm: Welcome (Bioenergy Australia)
4.35 - 4.50 pm: Decarbonisation of aviation and road transport from a global leader perspective (Philip Moore, Neste)
4.50 - 5.05 pm: How other countries are improving the viability of biofuels (Johannes Lehken, Neste)
5.05 – 5.20 pm: Decarbonisation opportunities for marine fleets – a new Australian case study (Steve Rogers, Licella)
5.20 - 5.30 pm: Q&A

Presenters:

Philip Moore - Head of Sales, Renewable Road Transport, APAC at Neste

Phil joined Neste in 2016 and works for Neste in our Singapore office. He is a strong enthusiast of Neste’s vision to create a healthier planet for our children and promotes immediate action on climate change through renewable fuels as one of the solutions available to decarbonize transport. Prior to joining Neste he worked in the Aviation Fuels sector and retains a keen interest in Neste Renewable Jet Fuel as well as our Renewable Road Fuels.

Johannes Lehken - Head of Public Affairs, Europe & APAC at Neste

Johannes has been with Neste for six years. Before leading the company’s government relations in the region, he functioned as Head of Commercial Development, where he, among others, coordinated the introduction of the company’s branded renewable fuel solution “Neste MY renewable diesel” to markets that took bold action to decarbonize transport like California, Sweden or the Netherlands. A German national, Johannes has a career background in the European Parliament, the UK Electoral Commission as well as in government relations consulting for multinational corporations in Berlin, London, Brussels and Geneva, where he is also based today.

Steve Rogers - Business Development Manager at Licella

Steve is Australia’s representative on the IEA Bioenergy Task 39 – commercialising Liquid Biofuels. He joined Licella in early 2008 and was initially focussing on the opportunities for the technology in Europe, then assisting with capital raising whilst developing the commercialisation strategy for the company, which is now being implemented. He is now actively engaged in the three Joint Ventures the company has in Australia, the UK and Canada where Licella’s Cat-HTR technology is being deployed.
