Bioenergy Australia Webinar Series

Studies of the economics of using forest biomass for bioenergy often show that profitability is hard to achieve unless supported by policies and/or regulations However, when you consider the entire silvicultural system, from harvest through to a re-established stand of trees, there is an increasing recognition that the recovery of forest biomass can play a positive role in reducing the cost and effort to properly prepare the site for effective planting or re-establishment of natural regeneration. Case studies in Australia, Tasmania and Quebec will be presented to showcase  opportunities to integrate forest biomass procurement as part of larger forest silvicultural and management systems.
