DELOREAN SECURES $6.1m ARENA GRANT FOR MAJOR SA1 FACILITY UPGRADE
 
Key Highlights:
• Delorean Corporation Ltd ("Delorean" or "the Company") has signed a $6.08 million grant funding agreement with the Australian Government’s Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) to enhance its SA1 bioenergy facility, currently under construction in Edinburgh Parks, South Australia. This funding will support infrastructure upgrades to enable production of renewable gas (biomethane), and Renewable Gas Certificates of Origin (RGGOs), as well as liquid carbon dioxide (LCO2).
 
• The ARENA funding will facilitate the installation of technology to produce mains-grade biomethane injected into AGIG’s gas network, in support of Delorean’s evolving long term gas offtakes with industrial users via the Adelaide gas network and production of biogenic food-grade LCO2.
• Delorean’s SA1 facility, a pioneering renewable energy project in Australia, will process organic waste diverted from landfills, generating renewable gas and biogenic LCO2, supporting the decarbonisation efforts of industrial gas users and offering long-term environmental and financial benefits.
 
 
Delorean Corporation Ltd ("Delorean" or "the Company") is pleased to announce the successful execution of a $6.08 million grant funding agreement with the Australian Government’s Australian Renewable Energy Agency ("ARENA"). The funding, provided under ARENA’s National Industrial Transformation Program, will accelerate the development of Delorean’s SA1 bioenergy facility, currently under construction in Edinburgh Parks, South Australia.
 
The ARENA grant will support the procurement, installation, and commissioning of critical infrastructure upgrades to enhance the facility’s ability to produce and upgrade biogas into mains-grade biomethane. This renewable gas will be supplied to industrial users through the Adelaide gas network under long-term offtakes currently under negotiation.
 
The grant is conditional only upon Delorean finalising key commercial agreements including a biomethane offtake agreement with a suitable industrial facility. Delorean is currently in active negotiations with major industrial gas users regarding biomethane offtake and expects to be able to meet this condition as part of its core business.
 
Additionally, the upgrades will enable the production of biogenic food-grade liquid carbon dioxide (LCO2), with long term offtake agreements in negotiation.
 
Importantly, the facility will produce Renewable Gas Guarantee of Origin Certificates (RGGOs), which will be issued under Greenpower's gas certification scheme. This further strengthens Delorean’s commitment to environmental sustainability and reinforces its long-term revenue potential.
 
Strategic Benefits and Project Impact:
The additional infrastructure enabled by the ARENA grant materially enhances the long-term viability of the SA1 facility. With Delorean now negotiating renewable gas offtakes with major industrial gas users in South Australia, the facility is positioned to become a critical component of Australia’s renewable energy landscape. The SA1 project represents a major step towards decarbonising hard-to-abate industrial sectors by providing renewable energy solutions that directly address Scope 1 emissions.
 
Delorean’s SA1 facility is a landmark project in the Australian bioenergy sector. It will process organic waste diverted from landfills to produce and export mains-grade renewable gas into the gas network, while simultaneously generating and exporting biogenic food-grade LCO2. This unique combination of renewable gas production and LCO2 manufacturing places the SA1 facility at the forefront of Australia’s transition to a low-carbon economy.
