Asia-Pacific Renewable Fuels Benchmark report

Bioenergy Australia Low Carbon Fuels Alliance (LCFA) has released its Asia-Pacific Renewable Fuels Benchmark report.

The report provides a comparative look at how different markets across the region are approaching the development of renewable fuels industries, including policy frameworks, market incentives and investment signals.

Some of the observations highlighted in the report include:
- A number of international markets are moving ahead with clear mandates, incentives and certification frameworks to support renewable fuel production
- Demand signals are strengthening globally, particularly in sectors such as aviation, shipping and heavy transport
- Australia has significant feedstock resources and industrial capability, but policy and market frameworks are still evolving compared with some other markets

The report also reinforces the broader opportunity frequently referenced in the sector, with industry analysis suggesting a domestic renewable fuels industry could be worth more than $10 billion annually and support over 26,000 jobs, many in regional areas.
