MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIR

Well it certainly has been an exciting few weeks for Bioenergy Australia.

Firstly, I would like to thank the Board, past and present, for their efforts throughout the year and for electing me as Chair. It is a privilege, and I look forward to working with the team at Bioenergy Australia to drive our strategy forward.

As this is my first message as Chair, and there have been some changes on the Bioenergy Australia Board, I wanted to update you:

We say good bye and thank you to our retiring Directors, Mr Colin Stucley and Mr Mark Brown. I am sure that all members will join me in thanking Colin and Mark for their efforts over the years. Looking forward, we also welcome two new Directors, Ms Bernadette McCabe and Mr Ian O’Hara. Continuing with me are Ms Heather Bone (Deputy Chair) and Mr Gavin Matthew. As a Board we look forward to serving Bioenergy Australia and making it the pre-eminent bio go-to body in Australia.

For more information on the Directors, please visit our website.

In addition to above, I am delighted to announce that the Board has endorsed Mr Garry Mulvay current Chair of the Biofuels Association of Australia to join the Bioenergy Australia Board.

Garry is joining the Board as the Biofuels Association of Australia and Bioenergy Australia will be joining forces and uniting to drive a consistent approach to advocacy and profile raising of the sector. There is going to be a period of transition over the coming weeks/months and we will keep you updated with progress, however in the meanwhile we are delighted to welcome TFA Project Group, Danisco Singapore, Novozymes Australia, Wilmar Bio-Ethanol (Australia) and Ecotech Biodiesel as new members of Bioenergy Australia. We are excited that they will join our existing Bioenergy Australia biofuels members: Manildra Group, Maxi tankers and Caltex.

I would like to reassure members that we see this as a positive step forward for the combined Bioenergy sector. Through a unified approach we will achieve significantly more.
