Australia’s Licella is a second generation (or advanced) biofuel company, that has developed a patented continual flow process to convert non-food biomass residues into a stable biocrude oil.
A recently completed study (part funded by ARENA) undertaken by the world renowned ITQ laboratory in Valencia, conclusively proved that Licella’s biocrude can be refined into ultra low sulphur fuels using existing refining infrastructure. Licella’s bio-crude also contains feedstocks well suited to the burgeoning renewable chemical industry, which significantly aid the economics. Licella’s process has successfully produced bio-crude from a range of feedstocks including, paper and sawmill residues, agricultural stovers, miscanthus energy crops and algae.
