Dr. Sadaf Sobhani

Dr. Sadaf Sobhani is a postdoctoral researcher at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and the assistant professor at Sibley School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering of Cornell University.

Sobhani’s research activities focus on thermal management and energy conversion. Her work includes the investigation of flow and heat transfer in porous media relevant to thermal protection materials for future space exploration missions; computational modelling and simulation of electrochemical systems for energy storage, carbon conversion, and advanced manufacturing; and the study of combustion dynamics, pollutant formation and emissions. Previously, she worked as a research associate at the NASA Ames Research Center and the United Nations Foundation, Energy and Climate Department. She received her doctorate degree in mechanical engineering from Stanford University.
